The presentation of the new Superb is accompanied by great expectations. Not only the potential and the success of its predecessor have set the sights at a high level, tradition itself is an obligation. It should be remembered that there was already a magnificent car with the name of Superb, bearing the Skoda badge back in the thirties and forties. Even at that time, the car strengthened the reputation of the long-established Czech company as being among the best car manufacturers in the world. When it was launched in 2001, the first modern Superb represented a new start, a re-entry into a segment of the market that had been neglected throughout the difficult years of the planned, Communist economy. The first of the modern Superbs came, saw and conquered.

The new Skoda Superb successor to Skoda Auto’s existing flagship that will premier at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show offers new design elements, smart technological solutions and new engines. Ranging from 105bhp to 260bhp, three petrol and three diesel engines will be available for the new Superb. Besides manual transmissions, the choices will include automatic DSG transmissions and the newest generation of the Haldex four-wheel drive system.

Skoda has unveiled the first official photographs of the all-new Superb. Offering generous interior space and a striking new look, the 2008 Superb looks set to shake up the upper medium segment. At 4,838mm long and 1,783mm wide the new Superb is 35mm longer and 18mm wider than its predecessor. It stands at 1,461mm high and has a wheel base of 2,761mm - 8mm lower and 42mm shorter respectively than the model it replaces.

Skoda has unveiled a new addition to its Fabia line-up: the Sport. It will sit atop the supermini range alongside the current Fabia 3 flagship. Costing from £10,660, the Sport represents excellent value for money coupled with a more aggressive, purposeful look. This new stance is achieved thanks to a deeper, more sculpted front spoiler, 16-inch alloy wheels, boot spoiler, a chrome exhaust pipe and rear diffuser. Buyers will also find lots of extra kit (over the Fabia 2) including: curtain airbags, sunset glass, sports seats, front fog lights and a three-spoke leather sports steering wheel. All of which adds up to £1,825 of customer value for a premium of just £940.

Skoda Auto is introducing the Roomster Scout, a brand new version of its compact MPV. After the premiere of the Octavia Scout at the Paris Motor Show, the Roomster Scout is a second vehicle of the Scout family, a design line that adds distinct off-road elements to passenger vehicles. Compared with the basic version, the Roomster Scout is mainly different in terms of new design elements and larger outer dimensions (4,219 mm x 1,695 mm x 1,650 mm). . Just like the basic version, the Roomster Scout is a front-wheel drive vehicle.

Skoda Auto’s new concept car - the Skoda Joyster - is having a world premiere at the Paris International Motor Show. Shaped very dynamically, this leisure-time three-door front-wheel-drive compact vehicle is mainly targeted at young people. On top of its fresh-looking design, the vehicle offers a high degree of comfort and smart modern communication solutions. The Joyster concept demonstrates the big creative potential of the company’s young designers led by Jens Manske.
