The standard specification for the SEAT Toledo range has undergone a major upgrade. The list of standard equipment for the Toledo Reference and Sport models has been extended to include ESP plus EBA (Emergency Brake Assistance), climate control, power windows in the rear, electrically adjustable door mirrors with parking position, steering-wheel audio controls and front fog lights. Meanwhile, the Sport-up and Stylance versions have added bi-xenon headlamps, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, an audio system with MP3-compatible CD player, as well as a parking sensor, a sensor for automatically switching on the headlamps and a rain sensor.

- ESP and dual-zone climate control as standard on Reference and Sport models.
- Bi-xenon headlamps, MP3 plus rain and parking sensors for Stylance and Sport-up.
- All versions now come with an emergency spare wheel.

Also included across the range is a facility for deactivating the front passenger airbag and an emergency spare wheel instead of the previous puncture repair kit. Customers still have the option of a spare wheel with the same dimensions as the other wheels. This option continues to be fitted in conjunction with the two-tiered boot which no longer features in the standard model specification.

Despite this, there has been no change in the model’s boot capacity which is the benchmark in its segment. The 500 litres of boot space can be increased to as much as 601 litres thanks to the rear seats’ ability to slide forwards by a maximum of 14 centimetres.

The new range in detail

The range’s four trim lines, Reference, Stylance, Sport and Sport-up, are combined with a choice of two petrol engines - the 2.0 FSI developing 150 hp and the 102 hp 1.6, and two diesel units - the 140 hp 2.0 TDI and the 1.9 TDI with an output of 105 hp. The 2.0 FSI is also available with an automatic and sequential Tiptronic gearshift while the 2.0 TDI can be coupled with the new DSG gearshift.

Reference models therefore feature the following revised standard specification: ABS, TCS and ESP, driver and front passenger sidebags and curtain airbags, front passenger airbag deactivation, 16-inch steel wheels with low-profile tyres, dual-zone climate control, front and rear power windows, electrically adjustable door mirrors with parking position, remote-control central locking with folding key, radio with CD player and 6 speakers with steering-wheel audio controls, tyre-pressure sensor, emergency spare wheel and front fog lights.

The Sport version with its more dynamic styling offers the same equipment level as the Reference line and adds sports suspension, sports seats, exclusive interior styling, 16-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, leather steering wheel .

The Stylance trim adds more distinguished elements such as seven-spoke alloy wheels, leather steering wheel, trip computer, cruise control, volumetric alarm and coming/leaving home function. These items have now been supplemented by bi-xenon headlamps, rain sensor, an automatic headlamp activation sensor, parking sensor, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, rain sensor and an MP3-compatible CD player.

The sportiest and most luxuriously equipped version in the Toledo line-up is the Sport-up which adds the styling and sporty character of the Sport models to the equipment level of the Stylance.

A long list of optional extras is available to complement the comprehensive standard specification, with highlights including: multifunctional rear-seat drawer, tinted windows, standard-size spare wheel with two-tiered boot, dynamic navigation system, electric glass sunroof with anti-trap facility, heated seats, Bluetooth phone preparation with MP3 and anti-theft roof aerial, six-disc CD autochanger in front armrest and metallic paintwork.

These changes are related to the spanish market.
